As part of a continuing growth initiative, the Department of Management of Tilburg University, the Netherlands, invites applications for three positions (Assistant; Associate/Full; Open Rank) in Supply Chain Management.
Job description
Within the department, the Information and Supply Chain Management (ISCM) section conducts research in supply chain management and information systems from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives to lead digital transformation and take on current societal challenges. The members of the department, including its ISCM section, are listed here. Department members come from leading universities in North America, Asia, and Europe. We are a diverse and collegial group of research-oriented colleagues, including a terrific group of junior and recently hired scholars. The working language of the department and school is English. In addition to the bachelor's programs, the department is hosting five master's programs, including one in Supply Chain Management. In addition, the department houses Ph.D. programs, which prepare researchers for productive academic careers with excellent international placements.
The department has a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. Faculty members publish widely in UT Dallas journals such as MgtSci, JOM, M&SOM, and POM, among others. Faculty members have also successfully acquired project grants at the organizational, institutional, country, and European levels. We aim to maximize the research time available to research-active faculty. Research time allocation for the tenure-track Assistant Professor is 60%, which is the equivalent of two courses per year plus supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. We expect multiple publications in top journals over the tenure clock. Research time allocation for tenured faculty is a function of individual performance, but research towards publications in top journals remains a priority at all ranks. Compensation is competitive and among the top in the Dutch universities. In addition, we provide guaranteed travel and starting research budgets. For the Assistant Professor tenure-track position, we seek candidates with exceptional research potential and strong teaching ability, whose work fits our orientation towards operations and supply chain scholarship from a managerial and empirical perspective.
The candidate must have obtained, or expect to obtain shortly, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Management Science, or a closely related field. Ph.D. candidate applicants will be expected to complete their Ph.D. prior to taking up employment.
For the Associate/ Full Professor and Open Rank position, we seek candidates with a proven track record in research, as evidenced by publications in prominent operations and supply chain management journals and (individual) research grants. Considering the position will be hosted in the ISCM section, it will be a plus if the candidate is a boundary spanner between supply chain management and information management.

For the positions of Assistant Professor, we offer two fulltime tenure-track positions for six years. Tenure decisions for Assistant Professors are made in their fifth year based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment. Candidates may be eligible for an early tenure decision and accompanying starter grant funded by the Dutch government. For the fulltime position of Associate Professor or Full Professor, we offer a permanent contract. The salary is based on the Collective Labour Agreement Universities (vsnu.nl).
You are entitled to a holiday allowance amounting to 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross yearly income. Faculty moving to the Netherlands may be eligible for 30% tax abatement for a period of five years.
