The Space Economy raises urgent questions about the social, ethical, and global implications of business activity beyond Earth.

As public–private partnerships, multinational enterprises, and new ownership models become increasingly central to the space sector, management scholars have an opportunity to examine how responsible business conduct can be advanced in a domain marked by ambiguous property rights, geopolitical tensions, and evolving governance arrangements.

This roundtable explores the social and ethical impacts of the Space Economy, with particular attention to public–private partnerships, ownership models, governance, global cooperation, and responsible innovation. The discussion will also consider how frameworks such as ownership, location, and internationalization can be adapted to understand business conduct in space.
