The Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM) is seeking a new Co-Editor-in-Chief. This call reflects the end of Andreas Wieland's five-year term, which ends on June 30, 2027. The new Co-Editor-in-Chief will be appointed for a 3-year (renewable) term and will assume duties on July 1, 2027. The appointee will work with the continuing Co-Editors, Davide Luzzini and Hannah Stolze, beginning with editorial shadowing in early 2027.
To manage the growth in submissions, JSCM will add a layer of Senior Editors to take over many of the manuscript processing tasks currently handled by the Co-Editors. This will free up time for the Co-Editors to serve as strategic leaders for the journal.
JSCM is a community-focused journal. It is rated as a 4 journal in the ABS/AJG list, an A* journal in the ABDC list, and is included in The SCM Journal List (scmlist.com). Its current impact factor is 10.2. JSCM is an international empirical journal known for its high-quality, high-impact research in the discipline of supply chain management. The Journal welcomes interdisciplinary research that employs qualitative or quantitative methods to develop, advance, or test theories, present novel interpretations, or challenge existing assumptions about SCM phenomena. JSCM has long been a leader in areas such as sustainability, networks, innovation, complexity, transparency, and resilience/risk.
Applicants must have the following attributes:
1. Recognized globally for their supply chain management scholarship.
2. Able to commit 1–2 days a week to JSCM.
3. A team player capable of communicating with the entire JSCM community.
4. Prepared to contribute to the success of JSCM through attending conferences and editorial meetings, and representing JSCM at events and in interactions with institutions.
5. Expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative methods and deep knowledge about different onto-epistemological positions.
6. Previous editorial experience with empirical supply chain management journals.
7. Willing to commit to JSCM's conflict of interest code, which includes not publishing in JSCM during the term as Co-Editor-in-Chief and erring on the side of caution when handling potential conflicts of interest.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following attributes:
1. Have previously published in JSCM or served as an associate editor or a member of the editorial review board.
2. Can provide administrative support.
Please note that, although this role does not provide remuneration, JSCM does have some funds to cover JSCM-related travel expenses for the Co-Editors-in-Chief.
Applications and nominations will be accepted until August 31, 2026.
To nominate a person to be Co-Editor-in-Chief, please send a brief note to the chair of the search committee Dave Ketchen at djk@auburn.edu detailing why you are nominating this person, their CV, and contact information. The search committee will request complete applications from those nominees who best fit JSCM's criteria.
To apply, please send the following to the search committee chair:
1. A brief statement outlining why you are applying and how you could contribute to the success of JSCM.
2. A copy of your CV.
3. A summary (no more than one page) of how you envision the future of the journal over the next 5 to 10 years and of the initiatives that could move the journal in that direction.
The JSCM Co-Editor search committee will review applications starting on September 1st, 2026. The committee includes members of JSCM's strategic advisory council, previous editors of JSCM, and current ERB members: Dave Ketchen, Mark Pagell, Valentina Carbone, and Tingting Yan.
