    Dear Members,

We had a great meeting this year. Thanks and congratulations to everyone
    for making it possible.

Taking advantage of your recent experiences at AoM 2009, the officers and
I have a few open items we'd like to get your thoughts on. This came in
the form of a short (1/3 page) paper survey at the business meeting, but
we understood that some of you would like to deliberate a bit longer on
your responses. To that end, we've posted an on-line version as well:

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=qsw0iFw1j_2fp_2fDDexo4Mc9A_3d_3d

Included on the survey are opportunities for you to voice your own
interests in volunteer roles, as well as a chance to make a nomination (or
self-nomination) for the incoming member of the Distinguished Scholar
Award Committee (we need one new each year). The voices of these
individuals are critical in determining award recipients over a three year
time frame - so please give some thought to it.

Lastly, I'd like to take this opportunity to emphasize a few important
dates regarding the 2010 meeting in Montreal (theme : "Dare to Care" - AoM
will post details on the theme soon if you haven't already seen them):

October 2009 : A call for PDW proposals will go out

November 2009 : A call for paper submissions to the scholarly program
    will go out

    The Academy-wide deadline for paper submissions is Jan 15th, 2010;

So again please plan on submitting your works prior to that deadline.

That's it for now. Look forward to formal calls from our 2010 PDW Chair
(Karen Chinander) and our 2010 Program Chair (Tom Gattiker) in the coming
    months.

Best wishes in all your work,
    Sincerely,
    Elliot
