New Book: Information Technology and Product Development
**********************************************************
Springer (NY) has just published a new book that I edited titled
"Information Technology and Product Development".
The book presents important new research aimed at developing new theoretical
concepts and insights on the application of IT in product and service
innovation. The chapters have been contributed by researchers from
different business areas and disciplines including operations, marketing,
information systems, technology management, strategy, and organizational
behavior.
The book is organized into three parts. Part 1 (comprised of four chapters)
focuses on the traditional areas of project and process management; Part 2
(comprised of four chapters) focuses on the emerging areas of collaborative
innovation and knowledge co-creation; and Part 3 (comprised of one chapter)
identifies some of the important emerging themes and issues for future
research in this area.
Aimed primarily at academic researchers, the book offers in-depth
theoretical analysis of a wide range of organizational and management issues
associated with the application of IT in product and service development and
provides a foundation for future research on the diverse types of IT
applications in this area and their potential impact on both product and
service innovation.
