Upcoming RIRL 2014 conference

10th International Meeting on Logistics Research
May 20-21, 2014
The conference will be preceded by the RIRL doctoral seminar May 19, 2014
Every two years, the International Meeting on Supply Chain and Logistics
Research (RIRL) bring together researchers in the field of Logistics and
Supply Chain Management, under the auspices of AIRL (International
Association for Research in Logistics).
RIRL 2014 will be hosted by KEDGE BS Marseille, and will focus on
managerial issues of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Presentations
are expected to revolve mostly around the following themes:
Strategy and supply chains (network governance and design)
Supply chains and market globalization (delocalisation, relocalisation)
Supply chains and inter-organisational relationships (collaboration,
trust, contracts)
Procurement and supply chains (purchasing and supply chain performance,
purchasing/logistics relationships, purchasing of services, logistics
outsourcing)
Operations management and supply chains
Transport and pooling
Resilience and risk management
Supply chain competency and human resource management
Managing supply chain performance (modelling and evaluation,
benchmarking, best
practices)
Marketing and distribution channels
Supply chains and information systems (technologies, exchanges,
collaborative planning)
Training in supply chain management (learning, innovation, technology)
Sustainable supply chains
Physical distribution in online retailing
Supply chain implications and consequences of financial, humanitarian
and natural
crises
Service sector supply chains
Event logistics
Logistics, locations (urban, regional) and society
City logistics
They also focus on the conceptual, methodological and epistemological
bases of research on
Supply Chain Management in relation to other areas of business research.
Researchers will submit a 8-page abstract (approximately 2,500 words, line
spacing: 1.5), in French or in English, of their paper.
The Scientific Committee (**) will then select which communications are to
be presented at the RIRL 2014 conference. Final papers will be published
in the proceedings of the meeting and available on line through the AIRL
Website.
At the end of RIRL 2014 conference, the Scientific Committee (**) will
select the best papers to be part of special issues of: Logistique &
Management (AIRL’s official journal) for best French-language papers, and
Supply Chain Forum: an International Journal
www.supplychainforum.com for
best English-language papers.
Important Dates:
Submission of abstract (8 pages – 2,500 words): November 1st, 2013
Notification of acceptation: February 1st, 2014
Submission of final papers: April 15, 2014
The final papers will have to integrate the requests of both anonymous
reviewers. They will not have
to exceed 12 pages in line spacing 1.5 (bibliography, boards, figures and
appendices included).
