Instructor/Assistant Professor of Operations Management
Frostburg State University, College of Business, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Operations Management with an additional focus in decision management and statistics for its Department of Management. This position is available to begin as early as Spring 2016 or Fall 2016. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and includes USM benefits package.
Responsibilities: Teach graduate Management Decision and Analysis and undergraduate Operations Management, Quality Management, and/or other management courses both face-to-face and online with appropriate research productivity.
Frostburg State University’s College of Business is AACSB accredited and values teaching, scholarly contribution, and service. The College of Business has a growing reputation for addressing the rapidly changing landscape of business through global experiential learning. While the College’s primary focus is teaching, maintenance of academic qualifications includes productivity in the area of Intellectual Contribution. Service activities to the College such as committee service and student advising are expected.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate teaching excellence. ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor. Previous teaching experience in the discipline is required. If your degree, or its concentration/focus, is not specifically in Operations Management or Management Decision Analysis, you should be able to meet the college’s AACSB qualification-standards via demonstration of publications and other intellectual contributions in the discipline with emphasis on refereed publications (conference proceedings are included in other intellectual contributions).
Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Operations Management, Decision Sciences, or a closely related management discipline for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should be able to show scholarly productivity with an emphasis on refereed publications to meet the college’s AACSB qualification-standards (conference proceedings are included in other intellectual contributions). Candidates should show evidence of teaching in the Operations/Decision Sciences field and have familiarity with statistical analysis. Industry experience is a plus. The College is in the beginning stages of developing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree program and candidates must be willing and able to take on research and statistics courses.
