The International Meeting on Logistics Research (RIRL) is a scientific event attracting researchers from all across the world with an interest in Logistics and <st1:personname productid="Supply Chain Management." w:st="on">Supply Chain Management.</st1:personname> The 8th meeting and doctoral seminar is co-organised by AIRL (the International Association for Logistics Research), and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">BEM</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Bordeaux</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place>. Since 1995, the RIRL biennial conference has monitored logistics and <st1:personname productid="Supply Chain Management" w:st="on">supply chain management</st1:personname> research in terms of methodological aspects and associated workplace experimentation.
The 8th RIRL conference 2010 will be a magnet for researchers throughout the discipline as well as beyond. The conference aims to enhance understanding of a number of logistics and supply chain-related management issues:
• Procurement and supply chains (purchasing and <st1:personname productid="supply chain performance" w:st="on">supply chain performance</st1:personname>, purchasing/logistics
relationships, purchasing of services, logistics outsourcing)
• <st1:personname productid="Supply chain implications" w:st="on">Supply chain implications</st1:personname> and consequences of financial, humanitarian and natural crises
• Training in <st1:personname productid="Supply Chain Management" w:st="on">supply chain management</st1:personname> (learning, innovation, technology)
• <st1:personname productid="Supply chain competency" w:st="on">Supply chain competency</st1:personname> and human resource management
• Logistics, locations (urban, regional) and society
• Operations management and supply chains
• Managing <st1:personname productid="supply chain performance" w:st="on">supply chain performance</st1:personname> (modelling and evaluation, benchmarking, best practice)
• Strategy and supply chains (network governance and design)
• Service sector supply chains
• Sustainable supply chains
• Supply chains and market globalisation (delocalisation, relocalisation)
• Supply chains and inter-organisational relationships (collaboration, trust, contracts)
• Supply chains and information systems (Technologies, exchanges, collaborative planning)
• Plus other topics reflecting trends developing in the field of logistics (e-commerce, etc )
The 8th RIRL Doctoral seminar will offer PhD students a unique opportunity to present and exchange views on their research with fellow students, experienced researchers and professors.
