PhD Winter Academy 2018
After successfully conducting our inaugural first PhD academy in 2017, we are pleased to announce our second PhD academy in 2018 to be held from 8-21 January at Malaysia Institute For Supply Chain Innovation. The academy provides an interactive and unique platform to connect peers together, PhD scholars to world-renowned scholars and OM/SCM scholars at MIT Global SCALE Network. Being able to connect, interact and debate in a small setting that we offer would be at extreme value for PhD students and junior faculty member in this field. Based on some feedback from the 2017 Academy, the majority of participants pointed out the academy was enormously helpful for stimulate new research ideas, provide constructive feedback on the current research projects conducted by the participants, and getting some feedback from fellows from various countries who face with the same issue in different context.
This year, week 1 will be covered by Vinod Singhal of Georgia Tech. He will focus on the use of secondary data in general with a focus on event studies.
Week 2 will be covered by John Gray of Ohio State, who will focus on causal inference using observational data.
