D-IAS Assistant Professor in Intelligent Supply Chain Engineering Management

The Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) seeks an outstanding candidate to fill a position at the Assistant Professor level in the field of intelligent supply chain engineering management.

The position is a joint position at DIAS and The Faculty of Engineering, Department of Technology and Innovation and starts August 01, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. This position will be attached to the Centre for Sustainable Supply Chain Engineering (CSSCE) in Odense, and the successful candidate is expected to participate in DIAS activities and interdisciplinary cooperation in Odense regularly.

The DIAS Assistant Professor appointment is a unique position for the highly ambitious "rising star" that is looking for a long-term position in a very strong interdisciplinary environment, permitting the candidate to pursue ideas with groundbreaking potential. The position runs for four years followed by the possibility for a subsequent two years of employment as an Associate Professor - this extension will be based on an evaluation procedure. Note that teaching obligations will be reduced compared to a regular Assistant Professor position at SDU.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree related to one of the following areas: Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering with relevance to Operations and Supply Chain Management. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology will also be considered, but it will further be required that they also have strong operations and supply chain management background.

The candidate will have two affiliations and is anticipated to contribute actively to both environments

The successful candidate should have a strong international profile, a strong record of research publications, a strong track record of attracting / involving in research funding and have demonstrated exceptional potential to excel in scientific research.

We expect the applicants to engage in the development of the research unit actively and contribute positively to DIAS as a whole.
