Do you have a great paper that seems to be going nowhere? A paper that has been rejected from a journal or two, and you're not sure whether, and how, to proceed? Or a paper that has received contradictory reviews to which you're struggling to respond? Do you have a great empirical result but aren't sure if the theoretical contribution is sufficient for an A-level publication, or what other journals you should be considering? Do you feel your paper could really use some guidance from senior, more experienced faculty?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, this PDW is for you!

Now in its sixth year, the Junior Faculty Paper Development Workshop offers junior scholars a unique opportunity to receive developmental feedback on their current research projects from some of the best scholars in strategy. Specifically, it enables junior faculty who are struggling with papers in an advanced stage to engage in an in-depth discussion with very experienced researchers who will read their work and offer guidance on how, and whether, to proceed.

    Organizers:

Paolo Aversa (City U. London); Craig Crossland (U. of Notre Dame); Giada Di Stefano (HEC Paris); Aleksandra 'Olenka' Kacperczyk (London Business School).

Time and location: Saturday, August 11th, 2018; 8.00 am – 10.30am, Swissôtel Chicago, Room: Zurich A.

    Eligibility and submission requirements:

The PDW is open to untenured faculty members only (e.g., post-docs, assistant professors, lecturers). PhD students are not accepted and are discouraged from applying to this PDW. Pre-registration is required. If you are interested in participating you should send your application to str.paperdevelopmentworkshop@gmail.com including:

    1. Your updated CV.
    2. A cover letter clearly stating the question(s) with which you are struggling in the paper.
    3. The most recent version of your research paper.
    4. Any reviews received – including rejection letters and / or friendly feedback.

Please submit all the material in a single file (.pdf, .docx) with your last name as file name.

Submission of these materials is a pre-requisite for participating in the PDW. For the PDW you might also be expected to provide feedback to one fellow junior colleague, which is assigned to your discussion session. Submission of an application implies availability and commitment to participate to the PDW in case of acceptance.

New Deadline for applications is June 24th, 2018.

Note that submission of an application does not automatically imply acceptance into the PDW as places are limited. Applicants will be notified by early July whether their applications have been accepted or not.

We look forward to receiving your application!
