Please take the time to join us at our PDW on The Circular Economy and Biodiversity! Presenters, discussion leaders, and discussants will include: Joseph Sarkis, Paul Dewick, Wendy Tate, Lisa Ellram, Joerg Hofstetter, David Littlewood, Sherwat Ibrahim, Felix Donkor, and Diego Vazquez-Brust.
This PDW will examine new research opportunities at the intersection of the circular economy and biodiversity. CE is an alternative to traditional, linear systems that use natural resources indiscriminately; it emphasizes reducing waste and pollution, reusing materials, and regenerating nature. Biodiversity management research is complementary to this area of research, yet there is little headway being made in advancing the connection between these two streams. The first part of the PDW will provide a basic overview of the field. Then, the PDW will progress to a roundtable and open discussion format to discuss challenges, identify unexplored questions, and pinpoint opportunities for collaboration on CE and biodiversity research-especially from a business and management perspective. A brief overview video is here.
