POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to provide support for the research-oriented projects of the MIT Supply Chain Management (SCM) program. Will work with SCM researchers on research capstone and thesis projects, including project selection, development with company partners, and reporting; serve as mentor and thesis/capstone research project advisor for residential SCM students and blended SCM students, including liaising with them before and after they arrive on campus; perform individual research and publish in leading journals in the area of supply chain management and logistics; and assist with conducting lectures on a variety of subjects in the MIT SCM Master's Program. Will also provide support to the MIT SCM Program in terms of student management and/or coordination of activities, such as the orientation program or the MIT SCALE Connect activities and perform other duties as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations management, information systems, engineering, economics, business, or a related discipline. In-depth knowledge of one of the following research areas is required: supply chain design, supply chain analytics, supply chain strategy, digital transformation, machine learning, last mile delivery, or e-commerce. Must have published (or a strong pipeline) in journals related to supply chain, operations management, and logistics; and have experience with research methodology based on quantitative data, statistical software, and analytics tools. Seek someone who enjoys research, teaching, and learning who is able to develop and deliver lectures and class material at the graduate master's level. Demonstrated leadership in supply chain management outreach, experience with both methodological and practical industry work experience, proficiency with English communication, and excellent technical writing skills are preferred.
