Managing Supply Chain Risks: Strategies, Methods and Applications
Editors:
Yacob Khojasteh, Ph.D. (Sophia University, Japan)
Henry Xu, Ph.D. (University of Queensland, Australia)
Publisher: Springer
Scope:
Supply chains today are vulnerable to disruptions that may have a significant impact on business performance of chain members. This was the case in the Great East Japan Earthquake that hit the north-eastern parts of Japan on March 11 in 2011 and disrupted both domestic and global supply chains. The disruption was so severe that many companies and their part suppliers were unable to deliver products at expected volumes for several months. The major objective of this proposed book is to have an excellent collection of book chapters from leading academics and scholars on strategies, methods and applications for managing supply chain risks. Particularly, chapters will cover strategies, frameworks, models, analyses, applications and research findings that are essential for supply chain risk management (SCRM). The book could be an essential source for students and scholars who are interested in supply chain management. It could also provide an informative read for managers and practitioners who need to deepen their knowledge on SCRM.
Topics covered:
Potential topics related to managing supply chain risks include, but are not limited to the following:
Supply chain vulnerability identification and evaluation
Supply chain vulnerability management and mitigation strategies
Strategies and practices in managing supply chain disruptions
Sourcing, inventory, and production strategies to manage supply disruptions
Supply chain risk identification, analysis, and assessment
Supply chain risk measurement (validity and reliability)
Integrated risk management and risk mitigation methods (internal and external)
Operational strategies for SCRM (supply, demand, process)
Optimization models and/or frameworks for SCRM
Service supply chain vulnerability assessment
Supply chain visibility, predictability, resiliency and sustainability
Designing and creating a resilient supply chain
Continuity of operations and recovery plans development
Role of knowledge management and information technology in SCRM

Literature review (to provide theoretical insights based on review of relevant literature)
